How to choose a white-label field service partner: 7 questions to ask

When you send another company’s engineer to your client’s site, your name walks through the door with them. If they arrive late, skip your process or leave without a report, your client won’t blame the partner. They’ll blame you.

That’s why choosing a white-label field service partner is one of the most important decisions an IT company makes when it grows into new regions. These seven questions will tell you most of what you need to know.

1. Do they have their own engineers where you need them?

Ask for coverage by city, not just by country. A partner who “covers Germany” may have one engineer in Berlin and a long drive to everywhere else. Ask where their engineers are based and what response they can promise in each location.

2. Will they work fully under your brand?

A true white-label partner attends as part of your team. Check that engineers can carry your ID, use your ticketing system and report on your template – and that the partner will never market its own services to your client.

3. How do they choose and brief engineers?

Ask how engineers are vetted, how skills are matched to tickets, and how site rules reach the engineer before the visit. The best partners brief every engineer on the job, the site contact and your escalation path before they travel.

4. What happens when something goes wrong?

Every partner looks good when the job is easy. Ask what happens when an engineer is delayed, the site isn’t ready or a part is missing. You want to hear that you’ll be told first, before the slot is missed, with a plan already in place.

5. What does the job report look like?

Ask to see a sample. A good report shows arrival and departure times, the work done, photos, parts used and next steps. If you’d need to rewrite it before sending it to your client, it isn’t good enough.

6. Are the commercials simple?

Look for a clear rate card by country and service, with travel, out-of-hours and cancellation charges spelled out. Surprises on an invoice cost you margin and trust.

7. Can they grow with you?

Your first job may be a single break-fix visit. Your next may be a 200-site rollout. Ask how the partner handles volume, how many engineers it can put on a programme at once, and who will manage it day to day.

The short version

A good white-label partner makes you look good and stays out of sight. At Dexis IT, that’s how we work with every partner – in your name, to your process, across the USA, EMEA, Latin America and Asia-Pacific. If you’d like to see how we’d support your clients, talk to our partner team.
